6 | pieces | overripe saging na saba, sliced |
1 | packet | NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream, chilled |
1/2 | teaspoon | ground cinnamon |
1/4 | teaspoon | Nutmeg |
1/4 | cup | Peanut Butter |
9 | tablespoons | Muscovado sugar |
1/2 | cup | chopped salted peanuts |
1 | tablespoon | Butter, softened |
1/4 | teaspoon | Cayenne pepper |
8 | pieces | to 10pcs maraschino cherries, halved |
1 | To Taste | fine salt |
Step 1 | In a pot, combine NESTLÉ® All Purpose Cream, nutmeg, and cinnamon, and slowly bring to a boil. Shut off heat and mix in peanut butter. |
Step 2 | Gently line the saba slices into the baking pan in a slightly overlapping manner. Pour in cream mixture. |
Step 3 | Sprinkle the 1/2 cup muscovado sugar on top and broil under high heat until well caramelized about 8-10 minutes. |
Step 4 | In a pan, sauté peanuts in butter. Season with salt, cayenne and 1 tbsp sugar. |
Step 5 | Serve the gratin with spicy nuts and cherries on top. |
